Kimberly is proud to be representing the Southwest Michigan Scholarship Program as its Princess for 2011. She feels honored to be a part of an organization that helps young people develop the skills necessary to love, honor, respect, and encourage others in their community.

Kimberly is the eight year old daughter of Jason and Tracy Spaulding. She is a second grader at Coloma Elementary School in Coloma, MI. She has a brother, Harrison, who is a sixth grader at Coloma Middle School, and one sister, Mallory, a fifth grader who also attends Coloma Middle School.

She participates in several extra-curricular activities. She take ballet classes at the Citadel Dance and Music Center. She also enjoys horseback riding at Kniebes Centennial Farms, and she plays softball. Kimberly is a member of the Girl Scouts and is also active at Sarett Nature Center as a member of the Junior Naturalist Class.

Kimberly’s special fondness is for cake decorating ans she has completed courses in butter cream and fondant cake decorating. She would like to attend culinary school and someday open a bakery and confections shop called Kimbee’s Kreations. She loves the way creative baking allows her to express herself and she believes a baker is an artist who create edible masterpieces.

A naturally compassionate person, Kimberly is concerned about less fortunate people in her community, many of whom lack even everyday necessities. She understands that poverty exists and she believes that the more fortunate members of a community must help their less fortunate friends and neighbors. She believes that people must be taught about Hunger Awareness and she wants to encourage people to support their local food pantries which serve the needier among us.

When Kimberly is not busy with her any after-school activities, she enjoys quiet time reading, cuddling with her guinea pig, Buttercup, spending time with family and friends, and attending church functions.
