Princess 2017 Newsletter

Dear Southwest Family,

I cannot believe I am writing my last newsletter. It has been a little bittersweet knowing that my year of service is coming to an end in April. I have been very busy as I just had my fundraiser this past month. I held a bowling fundraiser at Kelley's Bowl in St. Joseph, Michigan. The fundraiser was a success and a really fun time and we raised 797.00. All the money I raised is going to Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan to help with the expenses of caring for abuse and homeless animals. I am so glad I had this opportunity to help with such a great organization. Animals are my passion as I want to become a veterinarian one day so I can help all animals in need. A big thank you goes out to Animal Aid for being a part of my fundraiser. You ladies are one of a king with big hearts.

Ashley and I have been busy going on our monthly goodwill tours to our local senior homes, and we been having a blast with all the residents. Our last tour in February we had some much giving the women manicures. That was one of my favorite highlights during tour. We also helped out at the St. Joseph Today Ice Festival. We were asked to help out with the frozen fish toss. I was able to give it a try and I made two out of the three fish in the hole.

I will always cherish all the memories of my year as Southwest Michigan's Princess 2017. Good luck to all the 2018 contestants who will be competing. I look forward to meeting the lucky girl who will become the new Southwest Michigan Princess for 2018, and wish her the best of luck.

Sincerely,

Kendal Jane Kiefer
